Deciding Your 2022 Medicare
You have 5 days left to Decide Next Year’s Medicare
If you’re over 65 (or have certain health conditions), you’re probably on Medicare . Why is this important?
Because as we age, we require more medical care. That’s why it’s so important to research & review your Medicare options during the “Annual Enrollment Period” (AEP). It’s a 54 day window you can change Plans, and add or drop certain coverage.
AEP ends on December 7. As I write this, that’s less than one week away.
Deciding your 2022 Medicare now? It means any changes you make now, take place on January 1, 2022.
Big Jump in Part B costs
Medicare Part B costs are getting one of the biggest increases in a long time. For most people, they are jumping almost $30 per month to $170.10 per month. Most people get this deducted out of their Social Security check.
Social Security benefits do go up 5.9%, but that’s just to keep up with inflation, it’s not like you’re getting “a raise.”
Your Plan May Be Changing
“Your existing Medicare plan could change. You cannot assume your Medicare coverage will remain exactly the same from year to year, even if you keep your same plan. Premiums, out-of-pocket limits, and the network of providers could all change from one year to the next and affect your continued ability to get affordable coverage from your preferred caregivers. You’ll want to look carefully at your current plan to determine if it still offers you the insurance coverage that you’re looking for in the upcoming year.”
Your Needs May Be Changing
“Your needs could change. As you age, you may find that you need more medical services and that your coinsurance and out-of-pocket costs are higher because of it. Or you may discover you need to see different types of doctors than you are currently visiting. A different Medicare plan than the one you currently have could be a better fit for your modified circumstances. Yes, it is decision time. For deciding your 2022 Medicare Plan.
AEP Is Just Once A Year
With certain exceptions, this is the ONE time per year you can change things significantly about your Medicare Plan, your Prescription Drug Plan, and so forth.
You don’t want to end up making a wrong choice that affects your deductibles, coinsurance, and co-pays for a whole year.
Research Carefully & Do It Soon
You want Medicare insurance matched to your actual needs & circumstances. Make sure the Plan you have is the best one for you, or study up to switch to a better plan.
Otherwise, you could end up spending some of 2022 regretting the fact that you passed up this chance! It’s time for deciding your 2022 Medicare Plan.
